Utility Billing & Assessments
Tyler’s Utility Billing and Special Assessments applications help clients manage a variety of tasks with ease. That is because our applications maintain a central customer file that is completely integrated with other Tyler applications. We also support the requirements of a Customer Information System, defined as a central repository of up-to-the minute customer information linked to all transactions.

Utility Billing

Tyler’s Utility Billing applications are a perfect fit for both municipal and independent utility authorities, and includes Service Order/Customer Request tracking, billing, and collections. Our systems are designed for services such as water, sewer, electric, gas, rubbish, and so on with basic or tiered rate tables. They also accommodate consumption billing, flat-rate billing, based on other billing, assessment billing, installment agreement billing, and miscellaneous charges.

Our systems import and export meter reading data from many handheld devices. Users can set up cycle-controlled, auto billing processing to ensure each account is billed, penalized, and provided notices in a timely manner with little operator intervention. Additionally, our CIS features allow clients to track event history, integrate with our GIS mapping tools, provide clients with Internet bill inquiry and payment, and more.

Special Assessments

Tyler makes it easy to process and manage special assessments associated with groups of parcels–for capital improvement, a one-time action, or a perpetual service. Clients may process amortized, flat, or unit-based fees. They can also monitor districts visually with our GIS mapping functions.
